Diamond Dove
Geopelia cuneata
(Viewing 4 of 8 photos)

Click to listen to sound sample Diamond Doves are arid zone birds - like many birds from the dry inland where seasons are unreliable, they are nomadic but in the good times they can become very common. Like most seed-eating birds they have to drink daily - just a few seconds at the water's edge they suck up their fill very quickly, then fly off to safety.
