Bird calls / bird song
Painted Honeyeater

Sample one presents one version of the so-called "georgi - georgi" signature song, but it recurs in different versions in samples 2-5. If you listen carefully, the higher note of the doublet usually occurs first, so it really sounds like "ee-jooo - ee-jooo" or "I-george - i-george" if you like. Samples from my tape No.102 (the first three) were from a recording of a single bird at Yathong Nature Reserve, NSW. Sample 102-120 is part of a long sequence of the lone bird quietly singing. Sometimes this sort of thing is a younger bird practising his repertoire. The birds on tape 201 were recorded at Jandowae, Qld in Oct 2007 when they were nesting.
