Dusky Robin
Melanodryas vittata
(Viewing 4 of 9 photos)

Dusky Robins occur only in Tasmania and on the islands of Bass Strait. There they represent the Hooded Robin of the mainland. Dusky Robins inhabit mainly open woodland habitat where they feed by sitting quietly on a perch before pouncing on their prey, usually on the ground. They are sedentary and occupy permanent territories in pairs or family groups.
